Families are crucial to growing Norfolk, whether it’s the current residents starting families or new residents looking for a place to call home.
Daycare Facilities
Supporting families starts with making sure they have access to quality daycare. I understand how important it is for parents to have peace of mind when it comes to their children’s care. That’s why I will prioritize finding solutions to the daycare challenges we face in Norfolk. To increase availability for families, I will support training programs and explore ways to provide funding for new and existing daycare facilities. Additionally, I’ll work with City staff to explore how our schools, libraries, and recreation centers can play a more active role in providing daycare services.
I will also collaborate with city leadership and the private sector to prioritize daycare solutions for those who serve our community—our first responders, teachers, and city employees. Ensuring that these essential workers have access to the support they need will help us alleviate our hiring crisis and fully staff city hall.
